Artists Reception with featured artist Kay Henkel and Gallery Fundraiser for the DAC Art Education Fund

  • 05/02/2014
  • 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
  • DAC Gallery

Gallery Opening and Fundraiser for the Desert Art Center's Art Education Fund with featured artist Kay Henkel in our small gallery.

She will be showing her sculptures and doing a book signing for her new book, “Rooftops & Shoestrings”. Kay has been creating sculpture for over 30 years. Her work can be found worldwide in both private and corporate collections as well as numerous public installations and noted clients such as William Demarest, Gene Hackman, Sonny Bono, William Holden’s estate and the President of Togo, West Africa, China, and Ireland. Kay’s remarkable talent for sculpting life-like figures extends to various types of media including bronze, clay, duracast, and concrete. Kay has taught sculpting classes and held workshops for over 20 years. And as of now has written a memoir of her life before success.

100% of this evening' sales will go to the DAC's Art Education Fund which provides funds for our Middle School Art Project where we provide art classes to middle school students who do not have these programs in their schools due to lack of public funding.  The Fund also provides grant money to the Palm Springs Unified School District for their Art Programs.
