100% of this evening's sales will go to the DAC's Scholarship Fund.  Each year since 1965 the Desert Art Center has awarded scholarships to high school seniors who are pursuing degree in design or the arts. Over 150 scholarships have been given in amounts from $300 to $1500.   

Bob Hoffmann, a DAC gallery member, had a love affair with fabric all his adult life, which now manifests itself in the creation of Fabric Art. Simply put, he uses fabric instead of paint to create Art. Influenced greatly by his career as an Architect in San Francisco and Palm Springs, Ca., he constructs, arranges, deconstructs and rearranges fabrics. Some of his work is an exploration of overlapping and interlocking patterns and forms; others are fabric deconstructions that transform fabric into abstract images. He incorporates the collage format with the sewn pieced construction process of quilt making to create his art, which now encompasses a wide variety of sewn fabric collages.
