Intake for the December / January Gallery Show

Our new Winter show will open Friday, December 3.   Intake for this show will be:

Monday, November 29: 2-D artwork intake is on per the following schedule.  

Surname A – L : come between 10 and 12 pm 

Surname M - Z : between 1 and 3pm

Tuesday, November 30 3-Dimensional Art, Ceramic artists, Sculptors and Jewelers are invited to bring in their art  10am to noon. 

If you cannot come between these times, please contact Vicky Nelson for an alternative time.

ON INTAKE DAY

Your allocation of art is exactly as per the Gallery Display Rules (see Gallery Information on members page).   We are asking members to attach a consignment label to each piece of artwork.  If this is a piece of wall art, secure a small card to the bottom right hand corner so that it protrudes like a little flag and we can see the information, (artist, title, medium and price) when the piece is hung on the wall. If it is ceramic ware or other 3D piece, please fix a small label with your name, control number and the price to the base of the item. Consignment forms will be sent to you by email and will be available on intake day. 

Please  refresh your memory about the Gallery Display Rules (see Gallery Information below).  You must ensure that your work is clean, the frame is undamaged and that it has a wire for hanging. The display team will reject any work that is not compliant.  We have not been so critical in recent shows being afraid that covid would impede our intake. With this show we will have our newly juried members so space is going to be at a premium. We shall be operating a Compliance check to ensure your work is within the agreed limits. If your work is rejected, because of framing or similar issues, you must correct and return with the picture on intake day. We cannot accept late intakes after we have started hanging. If you have brought in extra work to fill our gallery, please reduce your work to the agreed number of pieces. If you have something unusual that exceeds the agreed norms, please discuss with gallery team in advance. If you have something that is difficult to hang or display, you must solve this problem in advance. Do not expect the display team to do this.

In December the gallery will be open 8 hours a day from 10am to 6pm, Thursday through Monday and closed on Tuesday and Wednesdays. There will be two gallery hosting shifts per day, 10 -2 and 2-6.  Please review the Gallery Hosting Schedule prior to intake day and pick your dates to host for December and and January andsend your choices with your name and telephone number to hosting@desertartcenter.org to be put on the calendar.
